The Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG) was created in 2001 to combat the growing concern amongst animal welfare organisations regarding unethical classified advertising of pets. In certain cases, such ads were illegally offering dogs banned under the Dangerous Dog Act, endangered animals or advertising establishments which were not fit for the breeding or boarding of animals. There was also concern that readers of newspapers and magazines, which carried pet advertising, were not even given some of the basic principles surrounding the selection and purchase of a pet. To contact us please send us an email.
PAAG would like to know of any inappropriate classified adverts both online and in print but unfortunately is not in a position to take action in every individual case. We would advise members of the public to report any advert they are concerned about to the dog legislation officer at their local police station.
